We always have an abundance of activities for all ages at Asbury UMC. These activities range from fellowship events to music fests across a broad spectrum of ministries. Anyone is welcome to attend any of these events. We look forward to these great times of fellowship!
Food Bank Collection: Each third Sunday, the congregation at Asbury take a collection of canned goods and non-perishable items for the local food bank. All donations are welcome and appreciated.
Sunday School: We welcome nursery, lower elementary, and upper elementary students to meet on Sundays before worship at 10:00 for snacks, crafts, games and a chance to deepen their relationship with God. We will begin confirmation in the spring. Please contact Pastor Wes or the church e-mail for further information.
Volunteer Opportunity: Pastor Wes has been volunteering on Wednesdays at 11:30 am E.K. Powe Elementary School as a classroom assistant with student clubs. Please join him this week to learn how you can get involved.
Confirmation Class: On February 11, we prayed for four young people in our congregation who are beginning their journey toward confirmation. Please keep them in prayer and consider a special gift for their work.
Confirmation Celebration Luncheon : Sunday, March 18, after worship. Please plan to bring a dish to share to celebrate the lives of this year’s confirmands.
Wednesday Lenten Services: Starting this Wednesday, February 21, from 12 -1 pm, New Creation will be hosting a weekly Lenten speaker with lunch to follow. We will gather in our sanctuary at Noon for a meditation and Holy Communion, then move downstairs for a soup and salad lunch.
One Great Hour of Sharing: On March 11th this year, we will be taking a special collection for the UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, the Methodist Church's disaster relief agency. This is in honor of "One Great Hour of Sharing Sunday, an ecumenical Sunday dedicated to collecting funds for those in need.
