children & youth

Even rocking a baby nurtures a child in love and teaches them trust and security! We provide developmentally appropriate play and instruction in a safe and nurturing environment. In addition to our ministry volunteers, our nursery is professionally staffed by Felecia Griffin, who has a love for children. Infants through three-year olds, are welcome in the nursery, which is available during the 9:45 Sunday School hour and the 11:00 AM Worship Service. The nursery is also available during special services.

Preschool /Kindergarten Class

Sharing the love of Jesus with our children through Bible stories, songs, prayers, crafts, snack and play time.

Elementary Children

Our children's ministry is linked with the youth and adult ministry cirriculum to offer wholistic and nurturing Christian formation, for people of all ages. Our children's lessons include art, prayers, stories, games, technology, and developmentally appropriate engagement. Additionally, our focus each month is to foster a nurturing environment paired with forming a missional mindset.

Youth Sunday School Class

What does it mean to live as a Christian? In other words, how can our lives take the teachings and life of Jesus seriously in all things? Through discussion we seek to develop Biblically informed perspectives on aspects of teenage and young adult life.

Youth Mission & Conference Activities

In addition to regular participation in Urban Ministries of Durham, the Youth engage what it means to love God and love neighbor through a variety of outreach efforts.  Want to participate in the Methodist Conference Activities, such as Pilgrimage a weekend youth conference each November, held at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC? How about participating in the Conference Youth Day, held each spring at NC Wesleyan College, Rocky Mount, NC?
