Youth Sunday School Class
What does it mean to live as a Christian? In other words, how can our lives take the teachings and life of Jesus seriously in all things? Through discussion we seek to develop Biblically informed perspectives on aspects of teenage and young adult life.

Youth Mission Activities
In addition to regular participation in Urban Ministries of Durham, the Youth engage what it means to love God and love neighbor through a variety of outreach efforts. Contact Lee with new ideas and information about upcoming events!
For instance, how about joining the Youth for Mission trips ranging from spending a day at the MERCI Center in Goldsboro, NC? This includes putting together flood kits, health kits and school kits to be used in areas throughout the world by people who have been ravaged by natural disasters. If you want more, join the Youth for a week long mission trip at the MERCI Center during the summer months. Or maybe you are led to join the Youth in efforts such as trips to Biloxi, Mississippi where the Youth journeyed after Hurricane Katrina to assist the United Methodist in the clean-up of these areas. Every day our mission trips begin with devotion and end with an enriching time of fellowship and worship.

Breakfast Preparation – Urban Ministries
Every third Sunday, the Youth are invited to participate in our church’s outreach as we cook and serve breakfast at the Urban Ministries Kitchen.
Youth Sunday – Each spring the Youth of the church learn more about what it means to worship God as the gathered body of Christ as they prepare and lead a worship service, including planning and leading the music, liturgical dance, scripture, prayers and the sermon.
Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child – Fill a Shoebox for a Child Each year our Youth sponsor Operation Christmas Child. You are invited to fill a shoebox with small gifts to send to a child in more than 100 countries. $7 will ship this small box of hope to a child as we share the love of Jesus Christ to children all over the world. Watch for Operation Christmas Child forms to be available at Asbury in the fall.

Youth Conference Activities
Want to participate in the Methodist Conference Activities, such as Pilgrimage a weekend youth conference each November, held at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC?
